I’m Aless, the creator of this site and all things YFTD.

I’m a mom of one (expecting my second in the Spring!), and I’m an experienced birth and postpartum doula. I’ve been immersed in the birth world since just after my first was born in 2020 when I found my passion for birth work.

Why did I begin this site? Well, I really wanted to create a space to share all the evidence-based information and insights I’ve picked up along my journey as a doula, and sprinkle in some of my own first-hand experiences as a mom too. Being in the midst of pregnancy and gearing up for round two of postpartum life gives me a fresh perspective as well, and I’m excited to share that with you.

This website also allows me to expand my outreach beyond my immediate community. I understand that not everyone has access to a doula, and I thought: wouldn’t it be great to be able to reach more people with the kind of information my friends ask me about, and the questions I wish I had someone to ask when I was expecting my first.
